Our Community
Serving with Heart & Purpose
Westland Anglicans are deeply committed to serving our community with compassion, faith, and a spirit of togetherness. Through outreach programs, historical commemorations, and acts of service, we aim to support, uplift, and connect with those around us.
Community Involvement

Kuppa Klub
A weekly social gathering for people with special needs at All Saints Church Lounge. With around 25 attendees, Kuppa Klub fosters friendship and inclusivity in a welcoming space.

The Order of St Luke
Rev’d Norman Richards and Irene represent our local chapter of this non-denominational healing ministry, offering prayer and support for those in need.

Rest Home Ministry
Our Deacon, Frances, leads twice-monthly services at Hokitika Care Home, offering spiritual care and connection. We're also forming a volunteer guild to support those without family in their final moments.
Honoring History & Tradition
1918 Armistice Centenary – The Parish joined a museum sound and light show to commemorate the Armistice and honor those who served.
Restoration of Graves – Prayers were offered to re-consecrate neglected graves, restoring dignity and remembrance.
WWI Soldier Commemoration – A dawn ceremony at All Saints inscribed a missing Māori soldier’s name alongside his brother’s, with waiata, karakia, and pounamu gifting.
Tribute to the Late Queen – The Parish rang the bell 97 times with Hokitika Primary students to honor her passing.
Faith in Action
Psalm 139 at Cancer Support 24-Hour Walk – Parish members read Psalm 139 at sunset in solidarity with those affected by cancer, bringing comfort and reflection.
Weekly Column: "Faith for Today" – Our Parish contributes to the Hokitika Guardian, alongside other denominations, offering weekly reflections on faith and life.
At Westland Anglicans, our mission extends beyond the church walls. Whether through fellowship, remembrance, or acts of service, we remain dedicated to walking alongside our community in faith, love, and hope.
